On behalf of Helmsley Community Primary School, I am delighted to welcome you to our website.
Nestled in the stunning North Yorkshire Moors, Helmsley Community Primary School is a rapidly growing and dynamic member of the Areté Learning Trust. Whilst expansion and whole school progress continues, the school is proud and committed to serving and working in partnership alongside the local community of Helmsley and surrounding areas.
As part of the Areté Learning Trust, we believe we are ‘stronger together’ and have agreed to work in collaboration to ensure all our pupils receive the very best education.

Stemazing
🔧🌉 Maple Class had a brilliant time exploring engineering during a STEMAZING workshop with Diane from Amey! The children learned all about careers in STEM (science, technology, engineering and maths) and what engineers really do.
They also explored forces and balance by investigating different types of bridges and then putting their learning into action by building their own. A fantastic hands‑on experience that sparked lots of curiosity and creativity! 🌟
Eco Warriors
🌱 A huge well done to Sycamore Class and our Eco Warriors! 🌱
This week they made a fantastic start on our school garden. The children cleared an area and planted wildflowers, a variety of plants, and three fruit trees 🌼🍎
We’re so excited to see how the garden grows and develops over the coming months — watch this space! 🌳✨
Eden Camp
🌟✨ What a fantastic day for Maple & Sycamore! ✨🌟
On Wednesday, our Maple and Sycamore classes had an unforgettable visit to Eden Camp 🇬🇧
They stepped back in time and learned all about life during the war, explored the Heritage Hall of Army vehicles 🚛, and discovered so many fascinating stories from the past.
And of course… no trip would be complete without some time on the playground to finish the day with smiles all round! 😄
